The Chorus was first formed for the Christmas Concert in December 2009. With a strong beginning, the Chorus and Orchestra have grown musically and in numbers and we now boast a 50-voice chorus. From the Chorus' inception, the mission of conductor, Jeff Brister, has been to provide high-quality musical literature to the Bastrop community. It has been a rewarding journey and will continue to become more challenging as our our concert season progresses.
If you'd like to join our fun and diverse group of singers, then please join us at chorus rehearsals on Thursdays at 7:30pm. We will break for the summer after our "Patriotic Celebration" and will resume rehearsals on January 19, 2012.
Please attend the first rehearsal and you'll audition after the practice. The conductor will provide you with audition materials, so you don't have to prepare anything.
Rehearsals are at The Lumberyard Music Hall. The Lumberyard is located at 1109 Main St. in downtown Bastrop, Texas and is across from the post office. You can also contact The Lumberyard Music Hall at 512/321-7529.
